Communications Officer/Dispatcher

```Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Communications Officer to join our team. As a Communications Officer, you will play a crucial role in ensuring effective communication and coordination between various departments and personnel. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment, and a strong attention to detail.

Duties:
- Receive and respond to incoming calls, emails, and other forms of communication
- Provide accurate information and assistance to callers, including medical terminology, law enforcement procedures, and phone triage
- Transcribe messages accurately and relay them to the appropriate personnel
- Utilize phone systems and other communication tools effectively
- Perform data entry tasks to update records and maintain accurate information
- Coordinate dispatching of personnel as needed
- Utilize GIS technology to assist with location tracking and mapping

Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education or training in communications or related field preferred
- Previous experience in a similar role is highly desired
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent phone etiquette and customer service skills
- Ability to negotiate and handle difficult situations with professionalism
- Proficient in data entry and computer skills
- Familiarity with law enforcement procedures is a plus
