Foundation for Blind Children (FBC) is a high profile, nationally recognized non-profit in Phoenix, Arizona.  Celebrating our 70th Anniversary, FBC serves over 2,000 blind and visually impaired students of ALL ages, from birth to currently 102 years old on three Valley campuses. The Communications & Community Relations Specialist will collaboratively execute initiatives that align with the vision and mission of Foundation for Blind Children (FBC). The Specialist will promote FBC programs and services and effectively tell the impactful FBC story in the community, along with building trust among the families and diverse community members throughout Arizona.  These efforts will contribute to the growth of FBC’s financial support from individuals, corporations, and foundations.

 

Duties include: 

  • Collaborate with internal marketing and development team on design and messaging and assist with implementation of marketing programs and promotional materials for FBC.
  • Implement direct marketing campaigns; participate in creating and reviewing reports that measure effectiveness; work with vendors and internal staff.
  • Manage online campaigns; direct activity to maximize benefits of the digital marketing landscape in collaboration with the Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer including search marketing, link building, and keyword strategy; maintain Google AdWords account.
  • In collaboration with the Marketing Manager and Graphic Designer, develop, edit, and post content to social media; measure and monitor social media activities and develop reports.
  • Facilitate and ensure integration between online communications and traditional print collateral.
  • Collaborate with Graphic Designer to maintain content on FBC website.
  • Tactfully create and edit communications such as press releases when necessary.
  • Manage print and digital merchandising and collateral.
  • Research and work with data analytics for best organization awareness strategies.
  • Conduct market research and apply findings to ongoing tactical and strategic decisions of FBC.
  • Deliver a professional public relations image on behalf of FBC and work in collaboration with the Director of Development and the Development Outreach Specialist on targeted fundraising solicitations to diversified funders.
  • Actively call on new community partnerships to sustain and develop strong working relationships for FBC’s diversified needs.
  • Work collaboratively to drive and integrate a brand strategy telling the FBC story, clearly articulating its mission and service standards.
  • Collaborate with internal FBC departments in prospecting within the community to develop new relationships and/or manage existing FBC relationships.
  • In partnership with the Development Outreach Specialist, utilize donor relationship management system (CRM) to track current and prospective outreach and use data to provide insight on ways to deepen community relationships.
  • Network with business and community leaders to identify and develop leads which ultimately establish new FBC relationships and community partnerships.
  • Collaboratively develop collateral templates customizable for FBC colleagues, and other beneficial marketing materials, emails, newsletters, etc.
  • Represent the FBC at various meetings and events, including evenings and weekends as necessary.
  • Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Three plus years of experience marketing experience preferred:
    • Developing marketing campaigns, digital marketing and content creation, community and business development
    • Experience using customer relationship/donor management systems.
    • Public speaking
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field preferred
  • Ability to proactively manage multiple projects.
  • Exceptional analytical, presentation, and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret information to make sound recommendations for growth strategies.
  • Analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Must be organized and detail oriented.
  • Knowledge in computer software including, but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, WordPress, SEO, Google Analytics, HTML and CRM systems.
  • Arizona fingerprint clearance card or the ability to obtain within 90 days
