You will research, develop, and present a summer project to the executive staff at the close of the summer internship. Responsibilities:
- Attend daily morning meetings with trade floor members and executive team to discuss the company's position in the markets
- Prepare numerous reports including, but not limited to: corn and feed contracts, market drivers, position summaries, margin evaluations, etc.
- Understand the supply and demand in the market place by performing individual research and gaining knowledge during company meetings
- Network with and shadow current employees to develop a higher level understanding of the markets and the industry
- Perform extensive research for group projects and create executive level presentations
- Assist in other duties as needed and directed
Qualifications:
- Studies towards a Bachelor's degree required. Preference will be given to those with studies in Business Administration, Agriculture, or Agribusiness
- Sophomore standing and above with GPA of 3.0 or higher
- Preference given to those with experience and knowledge in grain/agriculture industry
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Must be technically capable of using a personal computer and a range of software applications, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Access, and PowerPoint)
- Detail oriented and self-motivated
- Ability to work independently with urgency and deadlines
- Good organizational skills for multi-tasking and prioritizing workloads
- Maintain positive professional relationships, both internal and external
- Demonstrate business acumen and leadership skills
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
