The Commercialization Manager (CM) will increase project execution success and provide consistent delivery of the right projects, on time, with the right resources. The CM will increase the productivity of Private Label Food Ingredient Sales (FIG) by helping to successfully support delivery of topline sales and bottom-line profitability for the group. In addition, the CM is responsible for developing and managing a broad spectrum of Business Unit (BU) projects systems, including conducting business analysis, developing tools to support Private Label FIG, assist in new business startup execution, work with SAP, MDG, and other corporate systems, volume forecasting, business reporting, and other functions to support the business.
Position can be based out of Walnut Creek HQ and/or remote based in Bay Area.
The salary range for this position is: $89,874 - $152,860
Responsibilities:
Commercialization:
  • Work with the Private Label Ingredient Sales teams to support the growth and development of these important strategic groups
  • Provide cross-functional execution and support that drive business performance and optimizes business processes between Finance, Plant Operations, R D, Supply Chain, and Demand Planning
  • Create clear goals from the outset of projects with repeatable processes
  • Develop and implement metrics for the measurement of project successes
  • Increase portfolio performance via project management processes
  • Proactively assess project trajectories to ensure key development milestones will be achieved according to plan as well as identify need to escalate potential barriers to project progression (such as resource constraints) to management for resolution
  • Establish and manage detailed project timelines for each project working will all cross-functional parties to develop timelines (R D / Finance / Marketing / Demand Planning / Sales)
  • Determine interdependencies between projects

Capability Development:
  • Build scalable analytic tools that can be leveraged across the BU teams
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline workflows in order to spend more time adding value and less time on administrative tasks. Standardize the project process.
  • Provide data and insights to drive better decisions i.e. project tracking
  • Be the keeper of the stage gate process for new item set-up

Business Reporting and Analysis:
  • Provide strategic analyses and insights that drive decisions toward profitable growth
  • Ensure appropriate and timely communication among key stake holders for each project(includes high level summaries to senior leadership)
  • Provide data and insights to drive better decisions via working with parent company (DMPI) for internal data and outlook
  • Work with Demand Planning to manage aging inventory before it gets to the critical stage
  • Aid in on-going tracking of business performance by providing recaps on a quarterly basis for business reviews: broker, distributor, FIG accounts, and Private Label customers

    • Quarterly Business Reviews and Board meeting materials
    • Develop reports to track business performance (i.e., new product results) in-market versus objectives

New Customer Set Up Execution
  • Create new customer material ID's and BRITE codes for customer projects
  • Assist in the PIR development and approval process
  • Work in SAP to set up pricing and set up customer hierarchy
  • Set up customers on credit working with Finance and Customer Service group
  • Assist Co-Man FIG with contract development and execution
  • Work with various cross-functional teams in creation of labels and packaging
  • Work with Demand Planning
  • Assist team with plants and supply chain projects
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree preferred
  • 10+ years of relevant work experience, 4-5+ in a CPG environment preferred
  • Strong practical experience managing projects
  • Strong analytical, verbal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced, demanding environment
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision to get to end results
  • Results-oriented, self-motivated, and pro-active individual
  • Excellent planning, negotiation and interpersonal skills
  • Strong ability to translate data and deep dive analytics into stories, insight, and actionable recommendations
  • Strong computer literacy. Expert Microsoft Excel and advanced PowerPoint skills
  • Ability to work well with a wide variety of cross-functional.
