Primary Responsibilities – The Estimator is the person responsible for preparing an accurate quote for small to medium projects. This person will also function as the Project Manager in bringing the awarded projects to a successful completion and close-out.
Job Duties –
- Estimating
o Assist in pursuits and preconstruction activities – presentations, estimating and bidding – pre-job walk throughs, meetings, and site visits
o Review proposal specifications and drawings to determine scope of work and required contents of estimate
o Review the estimate with the team to ensure data is accurate and all components of design are captured and properly charged
o Communicate with Owner, Architect, Engineer, Subcontractors, and Suppliers as necessary
o Post bid follow up
- Project Management
o Assist in calculating production information crew understands and can use
o Assist in ensuring that all work on the project meets both the contract requirements and quality standards
o Assist with creating, monitoring and updating punch list
o Assist with project close out
- Administrative
o Track awarded contracts as required
o Assist with completing required documentation and reporting
o Assist with setting up schedule of values and monthly pay application
o Assist with payment approval of invoices for purchases
o Assist with drafting change request proposals and update subcontracts, purchase orders, and project budget with changes as required
Required Skills-
- Knowledge and experience of all commercial roof systems – EPDM, BUR, TPO, PVC
- Strong attention to detail – excellent math skills – capable of performing complex tasks
- Must not be afraid of heights – able to access commercial roofs
- Proficient in Office software – word, excel, database, and presentation software
- Excellent communication skills – both written and verbal
- Self-starter and self-motivator to work independently on projects
- Effective at time management with proven track record in project management
Education - Prefer Associate’s degree or required equivalent experience in Construction or Project Management
