We have an immediate opening for a skilled Pipefitter. You will be responsible for fabricating, installing, and repairing piping, fixtures, and other fluid system structures. We work with both industrial and commercial clients, so you must be familiar with both types of systems. After installation, you will inspect and test each piping section to ensure there are no leaks and the piping is secure. Our ideal candidate has at least one year of professional experience. Carbon and Stainless Steel Pipe Welding Certs are a plus.
Responsibilities
- Review project to understand scope and timeline
- Measure sections and order materials needed
- Cut, bend, and weld metals such as carbon and stainless steel to specifications
- Install piping or tubing segments securely with welding or other equipment
- Perform trial runs and tests on pipe systems to ensure there are no leaks or weak points
- Repair and reinforce broken, cracked, or inadequate systems or pipes
- Reads and interprets Contract Documents, along with Architectural, Structural and Mechanical Drawings.
- Read and interpret Submittals and Shop Drawings.
Qualifications
- High school degree or equivalent
- Completion of vocational school programs or trade apprenticeship
- Various levels of experience as a pipefitter are needed (multiple positions are available)
- Proficient with manual and power tools
- Attention to detail
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal building code regulations with regard to piping systems
- Possess a basic understanding of HVAC Piping System Operations.
- Possess a basic understanding of SMACNA Standards for Duct/System Installations.
- Possess current certifications to operate Forklifts, Scissor Lifts, Boom Lifts, and any other equipment necessary to perform a job.
- Performs layout of HVAC Piping and Mechanical Systems.
- Possess a current City of Phoenix Journeyman’s License.
- Possess all tools required to perform job requirements.
- Understanding of all types of piping assembly and installations.
- Has the ability to construct and install HVAC-related piping systems with limited supervision.
- Assists with hands-on training of co-workers.
- Other assigned duties as required..
