The Commercial Loan Closer collaborates with business lenders, business members, and the legal department to effectuate the documentation, closing, and booking of business loans. An ideal candidate meets the financing needs of the member by managing tasks to uphold deadlines.
- Prepare loan and collateral documentation for various loan types and structures including lines of credit, term loans, commercial mortgages, construction loans, and equipment loans
- Prepare term sheets and loan commitment letters for approved business loans
- Analyze loan transactions and coordinate with legal counsel to assist with preparing legal documents required to close business loans
- Ensure loans are documented and closed according to the credit approval
- Perform appropriate due diligence tasks and ensure conditions precedents are met before closing and funding a loan or making future advances on business loans
- Collaborate with internal and external counsel, title companies, and the Accounting Department to meet funding and wiring requirements for closings on Commercial Loans
- Manage and clear post-closing legal documentation exceptions in compliance with Suncoast Credit Union policy
- Prepare loan satisfactions and record the same with government entities
- Assist business members with questions related to their business loans and act as a liaison between business lenders and internal or outside legal counsel
- Assist service center staff with business lending questions
- Monitor construction projects throughout their draw period
- Prepare loan files to scan and index
- Attend training classes to increase professional knowledge
- Bachelor's degree in business administration, legal studies, or a related field (A compatible combination of work experience and training may be substituted for education requirements)
- Experience in a commercial lending environment preferred
- Ability to prioritize tasks by effectively managing competing and changing priorities to meet deadlines
- Effective written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills to interact with members, staff, vendors, and government regulators
