Field Service Technician
As a CFT technician, you are a factory trained, factory technician qualified to work on Schneider Electric cooling distribution equipment including; DX perimeter and in-row cooling, CRAC/CRAH's, Chilled Water perimeter and in-row cooling equipment.
This role requires proficiency in jobsite safety, HVAC equipment maintenance/installation, customer service, schedule management and communication.
Training: You will be paid for all training, which primarily occurs in Dallas TX, on specific Schneider Electric equipment. Once you have been trained on the specific equipment you will be working on, you will be riding along with a factory technician working on that specific equipment, until your proficiency is at a level that the factory technicians will sign you off as ready to go solo. As new equipment comes online, there is continual education provided to ensure our technicians are fully trained and qualified on any equipment we ask them to work on.
Work Week: A typical work week involves multiple customer sites, within a day radius of Kansas City, KS. This position has the option of occasional travel. Travel occurs when a customer in our region has a site outside of the typical radius, and an overnight is required to safely travel to and from the location. If additional technician support is needed in another region, there is the opportunity to travel out to those regions for 2-4 days to assist on specific efforts.
We usually work a 40 hour work week. There is potential for additional hours, but it depends on how much work is available and what is critical. Some of this work requires after hours and weekend work as it is primarily in Mission Critical facilities: Data Centers, Hospitals, Financial institutions, etc..
To ensure the health and safety of our team members, we do cap the maximum weekly hours, but an average work week will be 40-45 hours.
As a technician you have a lot of flexibility in how you build your schedule. This role does require you to schedule a portion of your site visits, primarily for preventative maintenance contracts. Because you have scheduling responsibilities, you can control when you have early afternoons, late morning starts, three-day weekends etc. outside of specific customer timing requests or any on-call/emergency work.
This is a long-term position with growth opportunity into management, service offering development and potentially sales if desired. For our field technician positions, the pay range is $32.00/hour to $55/hour depending on skillset and prior experience.

As an extension of our current capabilities, we are taking care of our customers long term by providing factory trained support for Schneider UPS systems, data center solutions, isolated power solutions etc. We are hiring critical power technicians to support all of our product lines in all regions. Our technicians also support the contractors working with our equipment and the facility staff owning and operating our equipment. We perform pre-install walks with contractors to ensure they have all the information they need for a successful install. We provide extended service plans on a large percentage of equipment we sell for preventative maintenance and updates to existing equipment. We travel to other regions to support other large projects and deployments.
