The Pet Care business unit of Spectrum Brands is based in St. Louis, Missouri with distribution, manufacturing and sales offices throughout the US and globe. Job Summary
In this highly visible position, the Commerical Finance Analyst will be responsible for overall control of profitability for all profit centers in our Home & Garden business, in addition to assisting with the coordination of the financial plan, forecasts, and monitoring of actual results against these targets.
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Partner with Pet sales management, marketing, and Revenue Growth Management Team to develop customer programs that profitably increase sales, gain new distribution, and grow share.
- Sets, monitors, and evaluates net pricing for the division in conjunction with key input from division management. Upholds corporate pricing policy across channel lines by working in close harmony with other finance members.
- Help sales managers forecast their business and monitor results against that forecast.
- Assist with development of Annual Operating Plan, Quarterly Revised Forecasts, and Monthly Latest Estimates as it relates to sales and margin in accordance with corporate guidelines and direction. Provide submission to SAC-P based financial database and provide comparisons against various metrics and bridges.
- Makes joint customer calls with sales personnel as needed to insure optimal financial deal is negotiated.
- Quarterly results reporting – formal business reviews presented to sales and BU leaders
- Works with customer service to administer price plans, clear sales orders on hold, perform account reconciliations and other projects
- Maintains records that back up current customer programs and accruals
- Plays a key role in the resolution of unmatched customer deductions including taking an active role in deduction review and updates to group.
- Account review preparation for sales managers within these channels.
- Various ad-hoc reporting as requested by management to support the analysis of business trends.
Education and Experience Profile
- Bachelor's degree in Finance or Accounting.
- 3+ years experience within consumer product manufacturing company.
- MBA or Certified Public Accountant preferred.
Required Skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- SAP experience is a plus
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline oriented environment is required
