Position Description

This position plays a crucial role in the construction and building industry by assessing, estimating, and providing cost estimates for commercial door installation projects. This position evaluates project requirements by creating accurate cost estimates to help the organization make informed decisions for project planning.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for commercial door installation projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
• Participate in project meetings on both in-process and newly awarded job bids.
• Utilize estimating software and tools to ensure accurate and competitive pricing.
• Source and select appropriate materials and hardware for the project, ensuring quality and cost-effectiveness.
• Partner with Business Development on installation pricing and scope.
• Prepare and submit competitive bids and proposals to potential clients and general contractors.
• Partner with Business Development to present estimates and proposals to clients, addressing their questions and concerns.
• Maintain accurate records of all estimates, bid documents, and correspondence related to each project.
• Communicate and collaborate with the project team effectively and professionally.
• Participate in margin value engineering process on outgoing bids.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in construction management, engineering, business or relevant experience. (Estimator)
• 5+ years of relevant Estimating experience. (Sr. Estimator)
• Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards with a focus on doors, frames, and hardware.
• Proficiency in construction estimating software and Microsoft Office applications.
• Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
• Good organizational abilities and attention to detail.
• Effective communication (both written and verbal) and willingness to work as part of a team.
