The Business Analyst will maximize usage of existing tools by business function. Ensure appropriate leveraging of potential alternative tools to address business functional requirements. Assist business function resources with determining appropriate strategic direction for functionalities and tools (e.g., tool upgrade, modification, or change). Provide application support to the systems associated with defined business function(s) within consistent standard business operating practices.
PRINCIPLE RESPONSIBILITIES
Developing and maintaining process related inventory of tools used and necessary changes (Process Changes, Tool Upgrades, or Tool Replacements) for functional area of responsibility
Proactively work with the business functional area across impacted locations to:
Define and document roadmap which identifies tools and necessary changes to the tools to address defined business processes and procedures necessary to address expectations of the functional business model(s)
Interest in assisting customers to increase value contribution to the organization
Work with business counterpart(s) to:
Gather and document business requirements
Research and document business processes (both as-is and to-be)
Generate multiple potential options for functional design
Assist in the review and validation of unit test results
Manage, execute, review and validate quality assurance testing
Manage user acceptance testing
Develop and maintain roadmap as business environment and functional interdependencies change
Facilitating business process modifications required to address changes of the business function, while minimizing impacts to tool set supporting the function
Accountable for developing and executing planned project delivery
Project leader of business function related projects. Responsibilities of Project lead include but are not limited to:
Project Preparation, Execution, Monitoring, & Knowledge Harvesting
Execute, Monitor, Take Corrective Action (as required), finalize, and close IT related projects within agreed upon timelines and budgets in accordance with defined and agreed quality expectations.
Proactive leadership of multiple parallel project teams working to address business requirements through the implementation of application changes and introduction of upgraded and/or new tools
Responding to other activities and initiatives deemed necessary to ensuring successful day-to-day operations or otherwise supporting the Objective and Vision of the IT organization.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
B.S. in relevant education. MBA would be a plus
Prefer a minimum 3yrs work experience as a Business Analyst in one of the following areas: Front Office, Mid Office, Back office, or Trading System
Preferred, but not required minimum 3yrs experience in the Oil and Gas Industry or on a trading floor
Minimum 3yrs work experience within IT organization for mid to large organization with multiple locations
Minimum 5yrs practical experience working within a team(s) or projects
Strong interpersonal, verbal and presentation skills
Interest in assisting customers to increase value contribution to the organization
Ability to work in a team environment with cross functional resources to satisfy requirements
ETRM understanding and knowledge of various applications (RightAngle, Allegro, Ignite) a plus
Tableau experience not required, but a plus
