Commercial Property Accounting Assistant
The Evolution Commercial Properties Accounting Assistant plays a vital role on the team, maintaining a variety of ledgers used to produce key financial reports monthly. We are looking for a candidate who is organized, detail oriented and preferably has commercial property management accounting experience.
Responsibilities for Accounting Assistant
- Accounts Payable
- Review and verify that all recurring invoices are entered each month
- Run EOM reports and add bank statements/bank recs
- Maintain and update accounts payable tracker
- Set up and maintain vendors in accounting system
- Contact vendors for W-9s and up-to-date COIs, enter/update in accounting system
- Contact vendors for missing invoices, payment confirmations, ACH set-up, etc.
- Respond to vendor inquiries
- Download and enter utility invoices when they are issued
- Maintain/update utility tracker
Qualifications for Accounting Assistant
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field preferred
- 3-5 years relevant experience working in commercial property accounting.
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Excel, thorough knowledge and understanding of Appfolio is preferred.
- Ability to work and learn with minimal oversight
- Experience with accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledgers
- High degree of accuracy and attention to detail
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
Expected hours: No more than 8 per week

- Commercial Property Management Accounting: 2 years (Required)
- Appfolio Software: 1 year (Preferred)
