First Look: Commerce Writer (Preference for NYC Hybrid Candidates)
The Arena Group is seeking a full-time Commerce Writer to play a key role in building our central commerce team’s content, with a focus on women’s lifestyle. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in a range of lifestyle topics, including style, fitness, travel, beauty, and celebrity fashion. If hired, you would be responsible for writing stories that cover a range of topics quickly and accurately across The Arena Group’s portfolio of brands, with the main focus on Parade. Duties will include writing new stories and updating and optimizing evergreen content. The ideal candidate has experience writing commerce content in a high-volume, fast-paced environment, including news and trends pieces as well as long-form evergreen roundups. Must be willing to work nights and weekends as necessary. This position reports to the Executive Editor, Commerce.
The Arena Group’s expected annualized base salary range for this position is currently $60,000-$70,000. Actual salaries will vary based on multiple factors including, but not limited to location, education, experience and other factors permitted by law. The listed salary range is but one component of The Arena Group’s total compensation and benefits available to its employees.

What You’ll Do
Pitch daily to the Executive Editor, Commerce Content
Write 2-4 commerce stories a day with the ability to pivot quickly if a more pressing priority arises
Produce high-quality commerce content that delivers service and value to our readers
Monitor daily news cycle and flag commerce opportunities
Use analytics & research tools such as Trackonomics, Google Analytics, Google Trends, Ahrefs, Parsley, etc. to monitor story and section performance
Update and optimize existing stories with fresh info to keep commerce content up-to-date and useful for readers
Work closely with team members on tentpole events like Prime Day and Black Friday/Cyber Monday
What You’ll Bring
3-5 years’ experience working in a fast-paced digital environment with increasing editing/assigning responsibilities, ideally in the commerce space
Knowledge of digital content best practices, like SEO, AP Style, and data interpretation
Excellent communication, organization, and time management skills
Collaborative and team-oriented
Ability to write fast, without compromising factual information, brand integrity, or voice
A sense of fun, urgency, and a can-do attitude
Bachelor’s degree in journalism or related field
