Job Summary
- Responsible for supervising the implementation of the enterprise-wide technical vision and direction of the Cyber Security department.
- Implements business standards, goals, strategies and objectives (within assigned areas) that are driven with industry standards and strives to arrive at those goals.
- Reviews annual and quarterly budgets.
- Directs a team of multifaceted cyber engineering staff and assures work performance is in alignment to company and industry standards.
- Acts as a technical resource to management across the department and lateral departments.
- Leads coordinated work teams and provides leadership in multi-functional projects.
- Provides leadership and direction for diverse and sophisticated functions.
- Contributes to the development of the organization's business strategy.
- Interprets business strategy and develops organizational objectives to align with this strategy.
- Typically leads multiple teams of professionals.
- Contributes towards the build and maintenance of the organization's Cyber Security systems and infrastructure.
- Exercises proven knowledge of cyber engineering skills and methodology with a solid grasp of applicable Cyber Security compliance standards.
- Conducts security assessments and audits to identify cybersecurity risks within the company's networks, applications and operating systems.
- Helps secure and protect the Network Infrastructure: Routers, Switches, Optical Devices, L2 Datacenter and cabling, Strand Mounted devices, Secure Routing protocols, DOCSIS plant (CMTS/vCMTS/PON), SDN, best practice device configuration, network automation, monitoring and troubleshooting.
- Tests company's internal systems to validate security and detect any computer and information security weaknesses.
- Performs a technical analysis of vulnerabilities and figures out impacts to the organization.
- Reports, tracks and records findings in a comprehensive vulnerability assessment report.
- Identifies and recommends appropriate action to mitigate vulnerabilities and reduce potential impacts on cybersecurity resources.
- Applies long-term objectives and plans related to the company's technical vision to daily activity.
- Applies innovative solutions for cyber engineering developmental problems that are competitive with industry and company standards.
Job Description

  • Reviews and presents operating and capital budgets including forecasts of operations, development, testing and any specialized needs to senior management.
  • Supervises operations and ensures business strategies and objectives are being met in a structured and concise manner. Delivers strategies and objectives within the department and across the organization.
  • Evaluates overall work processes and standard procedures to ensure performance is to company and industry standards.
  • Continuously develops staff through ongoing training programs, operational procedures and policies and develops staff organizational and technical skills etc.
  • Sets the reporting standards and then works with the Manager of Engineering to analyze reports for such issues as schedule completions for testing, spend levels for NRE costs, yearly license costs etc.
  • Stays knowledgeable of competition and important new technologies and standards.
  • Applies background and understanding of Network protocols at all layers, Secure Routing, DNS/DNSSEC, Network Device Security for a broad spectrum of vendors and devices, experience with SDN and automation, understanding and expert ability to fix network issues and network stacks of different platforms, e.g. TCP tuning, queue management for various OSs, Experience with operations at scale, H/A architecture and strategies.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) as vital.

Compensation
This job can be performed in California with a Pay Range of $177,581.69 - $302,696.06
Comcast intends to offer the selected candidate base pay dependent on job-related, non-discriminatory factors such as experience. Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus. Education
Master's Degree: Computer and Information Science, Master's Degree: Computer Engineering, Master's Degree: Cybersecurity, Master's Degree: Data Science, Master's Degree: Electrical Engineering
While possessing the stated degree is preferred, Comcast also may consider applicants who hold some combination of coursework and experience, or who have extensive related professional experience.
