Role Overview
We are a high volume collections department with our primary focus being excellent member service and collecting with kindness. A successful Collector will understand that individuals experience hardships and our goal is to assist our member’s through trying times while maintaining their dignity and relationship with the credit union. Our Collectors operate as a cohesive to make each call a one stop resolution. The Collector will take pride in assisting members through trying times while keeping the best interest of the member and the credit union at the forefront. Day-to-Day
- Has knowledge of FDCPA and TCPA.
- Must be very detail oriented and possess excellent organizational and time management skills.
- Must possess ability to multi-task in fast paced call center type environment with both incoming and outgoing call duties.
- Has experience and knowledge with automobile collections, repossession, and remarketing.
- Has knowledge of automobile insurance and GAP claims as well as GAP and extended warranty refund process.
- Must have strong member service skills and have the ability to use information to effectively cure delinquency.
- Has experience with skip tracing without the use of a skip tracing program.
- Notifies or locates members on delinquent loans. Attempts to secure payment by appropriate means.
- Offsets funds from other Addition Financial accounts to cover delinquencies.
- Confers with member by phone to determine status of accounts and review terms of repayment.
- Documents verbal and written correspondence with members regarding status of delinquent accounts.
- Attempts to assist delinquent members into an extension, payment arrangements, or modification agreement.
- Conducts diligent follow-up through queues and calendars to ensure appropriate follow-up on delinquent accounts.
- Escalates problem accounts to appropriate management as necessary.
- Performs other duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
- Strong multi-tasking and PC skills is required.
- Fluency in English/Spanish is required.
