Collections Clerk

LA Health Solutions is an integrated medical facility focused on providing the community with specialty orthopedic care. HOURS: MONDAY - FRIDAY 8AM - 5PM

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Collections Clerk to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing collection logs, handling phone calls from attorneys, processing reduction requests, filing liens, and ensuring efficient billing procedures. If you are organized, possess excellent communication skills, and have a strong background in accounting and collections, we encourage you to apply.

Experience:

• Previous experience in accounting and collections.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently.
• Familiarity with Workers Compensation and civil court procedures is a plus.
• Proficient in using relevant software and tools

• Contact attorneys to obtain current case status updates.
• Process 1008 for Workers Compensation cases.
• Research civil court pleadings to determine the status of cases in suit.
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date information in collection logs and patient notes.
• Respond to calls from attorneys regarding bill balances, statement requests, and reduction inquiries.
• Follow up on dropped cases to gather necessary information.
• Complete reduction requests initiated by attorneys.
• Document all reduction requests in patient accounts.
• File liens against attorneys as required.
• File liens against attorneys who have dropped the case.
• Bill patients for accounts they are responsible for paying.
• Follow up on pending accounts to ensure timely resolution.
