POSITION PURPOSE/MISSION:
Set up, adjust and operate a variety of production machines such as cold formers, presses, and auxiliary equipment.
This is a Second Shift role (2PM - 10PM, M-F), but some training on other shifts may be available.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Frequent sitting and standing.
- Occasional walking, use of fine motor skills, reaching, and lifting up to 10 lbs.
- Minimal foot use, below waist level work, climbing, balancing, push/pulling, carrying, reaching, forceful motion, and lifting up to 35 lbs.
- Ability to meet the physical requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as provided in detail in the Job Analysis Database.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work well with other employees.
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Basic problem solving skills.
- Basic math skills.
- Basic reading skills.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- One plus year manufacturing or related mechanical experience.
- Experience running multiple machines.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Ability to drive a forklift truck.
- Proficient in basic shop math.
- Ability to use quality measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, attribute gauges, etc.).
- Familiarity with statistical process control (SPC).
- Proficient in basic computer skills.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Perform all required duties and responsibilities of an Operator - Cold Forming.
- Set-up, adjust, change tooling, troubleshoot, maintain, and operate multiple pieces of Cold Forming equipment while ensuring a quality product is made.
- Follow proper tool control procedures.
- Identify potential safety risks with equipment and ensure safety devices are operational and functional.
- Optimize performance of production equipment and tooling, mitigating risk of internal and external customer quality related issues.
- Move material, product, supplies, etc. and transact material movements as required using forklift trucks and crane. Load material into Cold Forming equipment.
- Complete quality control paperwork.
- Communicate issues and critical information to supervisors and others as is relevant or required.
- Perform weekly, monthly, and quarterly preventative maintenance as required. Complete oil changes on Cold Forming equipment.
- Follow Environmental, Quality and Safety Management System procedures and requirements.
- Ability to meet the essential job requirements, with or without reasonable accommodation, as outlined in the job description.
