Cogen Plant Engineering Intern

Responsibilities:

• Perform analysis of Cogen Operations
• Develop operational and maintenance procedures
• Write system descriptions
• Update MSDS books
• General housekeeping
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled student in good standing, pursuing a Bachelor's degree (B.A., B.S.) in the Mechanical, Chemical or ElectricalEngineering field who has completed their sophomore or junior undergraduate year and with completed course work in Thermodynamics, Heat Transfer, and Chemistry
• Anticipated graduation date of May 2025, December 2025, or May 2026
• GPA of 3.0 or higher
• Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to effectively communicate throughout all levels of the organization and with teams comprised of production, maintenance, and/or mine personnel
• Demonstrated understanding of engineering mathematics
• Strong problem solving and analytical skills
• Microsoft Office suite proficiency, including Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, and particularly Excel.
• Strong attention to detail
• Self-motivated and eager learner, with a positive attitude and aptitude to grow and develop within the field
• Demonstrated leadership skills and proven success working in a team environment
• Demonstrated commitment to safety
• Candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without requiring future sponsorship for employment visa status. (OPT H-1B Visa and TN visa are not currently supported.)
• Prior internship and/or related work experience is a plus.
• Active involvement in campus, club, community or other volunteer activities or organizations related to engineering is a plus.

Internship Details:

• Compensation: $23.00/hour
• Project Duration: Up to 12 weeks (between late May - Mid August)
• Hours/Week: Up to 40 hours

Physical Requirements:

• Occasional lifting up to ten lbs.
• Requires walking or standing to a significant degree.
• Contact with water or other liquids; or exposure to non-weather-related humid conditions.
• Ability to read and write in English in order to process paperwork and follow up on any necessary actions.
• Manual dexterity is needed for keyboarding, operating analytical instrumentation and other repetitive tasks.
