Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and experienced Coffee Shop Manager to oversee the daily operations of our relatively new cafe. As the Coffer Shop Manager, you will be responsible for managing the staff, ensuring exceptional customer service, maintaining high-quality standards, and driving the overall success of the Coffee Shop. This is a leadership role that requires strong organizational skills, a passion for the hospitality industry, and the ability to create a welcoming and enjoyable environment for customers and employees alike.
Responsibilities:
Operational Management:
- Oversee all aspects of daily Coffee Shop operations, including opening and closing procedures, inventory management, and ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Coordinate with suppliers and vendors to ensure the availability of high-quality ingredients and supplies while managing costs effectively.
- Develop and implement efficient workflows and processes to maximize productivity and optimize resource allocation.
- Monitor and analyze sales performance, identify trends, and implement strategies to drive revenue growth.
Team Management:
- Recruit, train, and motivate a team of coffee staff, including baristas, servers, and kitchen staff.
- Provide ongoing coaching, feedback, and performance evaluations to ensure a high level of customer service and operational excellence.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment, promoting teamwork, collaboration, and employee development.
- Schedule and organize staff shifts to ensure adequate coverage and maintain smooth operations.
Customer Service:
- Lead by example in delivering exceptional customer service, ensuring that customers have a memorable and enjoyable experience.
- Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints promptly and professionally, striving to resolve issues to the satisfaction of all parties involved.
- Continuously seek ways to improve customer satisfaction and loyalty through initiatives such as loyalty programs, special promotions, or personalized experiences.
Quality Control:
- Maintain high-quality standards in food and beverage preparation, presentation, and service.
- Conduct regular inspections and audits to ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and adherence to food safety regulations.
- Collaborate with the kitchen staff to develop and update menus, taking into account customer preferences and seasonal ingredients.
- Monitor and evaluate the overall customer experience, making necessary adjustments to enhance quality and exceed expectations.
Financial Management:
- Develop and manage budgets, monitor expenses, and implement cost control measures without compromising quality and service.
- Analyze financial reports, including sales data, inventory, and labor costs, to identify opportunities for improvement and cost savings.
- Prepare and review financial forecasts, sales projections, and other reports to support business decision-making.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or GED REQUIRED
- Bachelor’s degree or certification in business administration, business management or hospitality a plus
- Food Manager’s License REQUIRED
- Proven experience as a Coffee Shop Manager or in a similar role within the food and beverage industry REQUIRED.
- Prior Experience as a Barista REQUIRED
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
- Excellent customer service skills and a genuine passion for creating positive customer experiences.
- Solid understanding of cafe operations, including inventory management, food safety, and quality control.
- Exceptional organizational and multitasking abilities, with keen attention to detail.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with customers, employees, and suppliers.
- Proficiency in using relevant software applications, such as point-of-sale (POS) systems and inventory management software.
- Flexibility to work varied shifts, including weekends and holidays, as required.
