Hours: Saturday and Sunday 11:00AM – 7:30PM
Wednesday - Friday 1:00PM – 9:00PM
40 hrs/wk
Hourly Rate: $28.68
Weekly Rate: $1,147.20
Plus 4% Shift Differential for 24 hours
  • Paid in accordance with the wage progression schedule outlined in Article 7, Section 7.1 of the College/Union Agreement
General Purpose:
The Coffee Shop Attendant is responsible for a variety of duties pertaining to set-up, delivery and serving of food based on facility needs. The Coffee Shop Attendant adheres to standards of service as established by the operation. The Coffee Shop Attendant must be able to perform in a high-volume, fast-paced, customer-focused environment.
Primary Functions:
The Coffee Shop Attendant is responsible for the setup and breakdown of food and beverage stations, and the serving and replenishing of items. He/she takes food and beverage orders from guests and prepares based on menu selections. He/she must have the ability to communicate with customers and interact in a professional manner. This includes having full knowledge of products being served, their price and up selling whenever possible. Knowledge of coffee products and equipment used in the processing of brewing coffee is essential in this position. The Coffee Shop Attendant brews coffee according to standards and services based on product specifications. They are responsible for the stocking of goods to designated areas, prep work, removing trash and garbage and general cleaning. Tends and records all transactions including cash, card and credit when applicable and creates the appropriate reports as defined by Dining Services Cash Handling Policies Outline. They politely greets all guests and tallies total amount due for purchase. They tend cash, card and specialty credit circumstances as directed by the managers and gives the appropriate change with receipt. The Coffee Shop Attendant reads and records totals shown on cash register tape and verifies against cash on hand. They must fill out all cash balancing documentation and balances cash drawer at the beginning and end of each shift. Comply with all state and local food service regulations, including practicing HACCP standards. They assist with the preparation, set-up, execution and breakdown of all catered events within the campus center. When time permits, a Coffee Shop Attendant may be required to assist with inventory. The Coffee Shop Attendant is required to participate in other duties as assigned by a manager on duty. When time permits, the Coffee Shop Attendant may be required to assist with inventory. The Coffee Shop Attendant will comply with all state and local food service regulations, including practicing ServSafe and NSF standards.
Requirements:
  • Must be able to lift 25 lbs on a regular basis and up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Must be able to use chemicals required in daily cleaning.
  • Ability to read and comprehend basic English required.
  • Uniforms as furnished by department.
  • Hair Restraint as required in College-Union Agreement.
  • Meal Breaks as assigned by management.
