Coding Specialist I

Job Summary
RAYUS Radiology, formerly Center for Diagnostic Imaging and Insight Imaging, is looking for a Coding Specialist I to join our team. As a Coding Specialist I, you will analyze and interpret documentation from medical records and complete accurate coding of ancillary diagnoses and procedural codes. You are responsible for ensuring there is appropriate documentation to support all assigned codes used for claim generation and financial transactions.This position is full-time, working Monday-Friday flexible hours and is based at our St. Louis Park, MN corporate office and has the flexibility to be remote.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
(95%) Diagnostic and Procedure Coding

• Translates diagnostic and procedural phrases utilized by healthcare providers into coded form
• Performs accurate ICD-10, CPT HCPCS coding for the following modalities:
• CT CTA, DEXA, General Fluoroscopy, Mammography, MRI MRA, Ultrasound, X-ray
• May support coding for additional modalities and procedures as assigned after training and proficiency has been proven
• Ensures that charges are accurately posted to patient accounts in a timely manner
• Consistently meets or exceeds documented department productivity and quality metrics
• Answers internal external questions regarding billing and/or coding practices (denied claims; insurance companies, patients)
• Follows up and corrects denied claims due to coding problems
• Keeps abreast of all coding guidelines and reimbursement reporting requirements
• Brings identified concerns to supervisor or department manager for resolution
• Actively participates in weekly coding team meetings and discussions

(5%) Performs other duties as assigned
Requirements
Required:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• CCS, CCS-P, CIRCC, CPC, RCC, RCC-IR, RHIA or RHIT Coding certification
• Microsoft Office Suite experience
• Proficient with using computer systems and typing
  Preferred:
• 1 year coding experience • Radiology specialty coding experience
• 1-2 years Revenue Cycle Management experience
