Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a bachelor's degree in a field of study directly related to the industry being regulated such as engineering, architecture, urban planning, biological or environmental science, public administration, law enforcement, legal studies, or a related field.
- Two years case management experience;
- One year field work experience conducting inspections or investigations;
- One year of experience within a regulatory and/or enforcement agency in Fairfax County;
- One year of experience with Planning and Land Use System (PLUS);
- Ability to maintain effective working relationships with the public and fellow employees;
- Ability to handle interpersonal conflict situations with tact and diplomacy;
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
NECESSARY SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:
The appointee to this position will be required to complete a criminal background check and driving record check to the satisfaction of the employer.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Ability climb, walk/traverse rough, icy or broken terrain, and go up and down steep inclines. Ability to bend, climb, crawl, crouch, stoop, stand and walk for various amounts of time. Ability to lift 15 pounds. Ability to speak clearly and understandably. All duties may be performed with or without reasonable accommodations.
