Airswift is looking for a Coating/Insulation Inspector to work for a major LNG Client in Port Arthur.

Primary Purpose
The Coating, Insulation and Fireproofing Inspector will have a strong background in all aspects of coating, insulation and fireproofing especially in the field of cryogenics and LNG construction. He will oversight all the contractor and subcontractor construction methods and inspection personnel. The Coating, Insulation and Fireproofing Inspector will assist the Lead Inspector in the mentoring the quality staff in his areas of expertise.
Position will also be responsible for overseeing all quality aspects of construction and installation activities related to coatings, insulation, and fireproofing. Specific tasks may include but will not be limited to quality compliance of materials storage and handling, piping, equipment installation, managing/controlling Non-conformance Reports, construction testing, quality inspections, reviewing test procedures and other tasks as assigned by ECA LNG QA/QC Management. Work includes installations in the currently operating facility and new construction, commissioning, and start-up activities.
The Coating, Insulation and Fireproofing Inspector will also be required to support other site activities (e.g., other site coordination and/or investigations, audits, or other related duties as designated by ECA LNG QA/QC Management)

Duties and Responsibilities

• Provides guidance and technical support to the project inspection team for safe performance in quality control including inspection of fabrication procedures and construction procedures/activities. 35%
• Ensures contractor compliance of quality assurance and quality control programs. 35%
• Reviews drawings, schedules, specifications, and permits to ensure compliance with project requirements. 5%
• Collaborates with project engineers in monitoring construction activities for compliance with engineering drawings, specifications and industry standards. 5%
• Works with project engineers and Construction Manager to review engineering plans for plant constructability, operability and maintainability. 5%
• Effectively monitors contractor’s non-conformance and deviation control systems. 5%
• Provides input to weekly and monthly construction progress reports. 5%
• Performs other duties as assigned (no more than 5% of duties). 5%

10 Experience In jobsite inspection to ensure compliance with the requirements as outlined in project plan and procedures, codes, standards, certificates, permits, and agreements. Required
Demonstrated experience in monitoring EPC Contractor QA/QC plans and performance. Required
Experience in monitoring of LNG or Cryogenic equipment and piping, coating, insulation, and fireproofing in a field installation setting. Required

Licenses and Certifications

Other Qualifications
This position is assigned to a field office and will require working outdoors, resulting in exposure to extremes of heat, cold, noise and dust. Will be exposed to normal construction equipment and site hazards. Will be expected to work at heights and comply to the safety regulations in force. Must be open to relocation or considering the project location is in remote area which typically requires long commutes to nearest town.
