How could you help us create this experience?
We are looking for a delivery and installation technician to assist us in delivering our furniture and décor to our clients. This role works with our warehouse team to load our delivery vehicles and plan for the installation of furnishings into homes and businesses across the Outer Banks and coastal Virginia. Setting up and assembling furnishings and placing them in the appropriate rooms following detailed instructions from our designers and clients.
Examples of work this role would fulfill include, but are not limited to, the following:
Working with the warehouse team, plan the delivery of items and the loading of the delivery truck based on the plan for the day
Load vehicle based on the delivery schedule
Off load product at the correct location, assembles as needed and installs in appropriate locations obtaining proof of delivery signature
Ensure the delivery vehicle has sufficient fuel for the deliveries and keeps management apprised of any mechanical issues noted
Assist with warehouse deliveries and organization when needed and participates in annual inventory audit
Ensure proper lifting and assistance is provided when delivering large items, carefully installing avoiding damage to walls, floors, and stairways
Works with pallet lift when needed
Performs other duties as assigned

What is critical for success in this role?
Ability to work with ease with some computerized systems
Able to use GPS systems to plan and orchestrate most effective delivery routes
Presents a professional and pleasant demeanor for our clients, vendors, and co-workers
Able to lift 50 pounds at a time, potentially upstairs
Able to load and unload products with and without dollies in all types of weather
Able to navigate a warehouse and reach items both high and low
