Co-Op Civil Design Engineer

The Civil Design Engineer Co-op performs engineering assignments designed to develop professional work knowledge and abilities requiring application of standard techniques, procedures and criteria related to engineering tasks.

This position will offer a prospective engineer the opportunity to be involved with exciting projects and assist in developing and advancing designs, preparing plans, cost estimating, and permitting infrastructure projects that improve the communities in which we live, work and play.

Responsibilities:

• Under the supervision of a Senior Project Engineer or Engineering Project Manager, the Civil Intern performs design work for a myriad of projects ranging in size, scope and practice area
• Perform, under close supervision, routine aspects of civil engineering, requiring knowledge and application of principles learned in course of study.
• Potential field work including design reconnaissance, site visits, and construction observation to collect and prepare data for evaluation.
• Assist in the development of design drawings using CAD software such as MicroStation and/or AutoCAD.
• Provide support to staff members as needed.

Requirements:

• You’re actively pursuing a BS (or MS) in Civil Engineering or a related field
• Knowledge in AutoCad and/or Microstation/InRoads
• Experience with Microsoft Suite of tools
• Team Oriented
• Attention to Detail
