Senior Civil Design Engineer

Opportunity:

The Senior Civil Design Engineer will help improve the communities in which we all live, work, and play by overseeing the activities of a technical team in the firm’s Civil Engineering Core Business.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and manage various civil engineering projects from conception to completion, ensuring compliance with industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Design a diverse range of Civil Engineering projects, including water and force mains, gravity sewer, lift stations, roadways, grading, pavement design, drainage systems, surface water management, earthwork, and more.
• Perform site assessments, feasibility studies, and technical analyses to develop innovative and cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare detailed engineering designs, plans, specifications, and cost estimates for a range of projects, including streets, drainage, and utilities
• Generate detailed construction plans using AutoCAD and/or oversee the plans production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including architects, surveyors, and contractors.
• Coordinate with contractors and inspectors regarding quality control checks to confirm compliance with plans, construction schedules, contractor submittals, and requests for change orders.
• Provide technical expertise and guidance to junior engineers and support staff.
• Prepare and process permit applications with agencies such as SFWMD, FDEP, FDOT, Municipalities, and Utility departments, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements.
• Project management, encompassing oversight of scope, schedule, budget, and quality assurance, overseeing the successful delivery projects.

Requirements:

• Candidates shall possess a BS in Civil Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 10+ years of experience in civil engineering with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license required.
• Proficiency in industry standard software such as AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other relevant engineering tools
• Strong analytical and problem solving skills with attention to detail
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects concurrently and meet deadlines.
