Cnc/Waterjet Operator- 2Nd Shift

Gemini is currently seeking a CNC/Waterjet Operator to join our production team in Cannon Falls, MN. This is a 2nd shift position and the minimum starting pay is $19.19 per hour with a 10% shift differential, taking experience into consideration. Benefits start in less than 30 days!

Essential Functions

• Reviews production orders to insure familiarity with job requirements.
• Create basic programs and repairs using a CAD-CAM system.
• Loads CNC programs into machine.
• Use a pre-setter to set and load tooling.
• Loads material into the milling machine and optimizes machine utilization.
• Organize and prioritize orders as required by ship dates.
• Finishes edges of plaques by filing and sanding as required by company standards of quality.
• Lays out location of mounting studs, and drills and taps plaques as needed.
• Performs inspection before shipment to ensure compliance with customer specifications.
• Maintains a complete and orderly file of all artwork used.
• Assures that materials are ready and available, and reports to supervisor when materials are needed.
• Performs material handling and maintains an organized and clean department.
• Completes and maintains records of materials, production levels, and job requirements.
• Performs duties in a safe and positive manner.
• Maintains a positive working relationship with fellow employees and superiors.

Job Specific Duties

• Read and understand blueprints and shop drawings in determining the nature of the products to be manufactured.
• Understands the machining process of company products.
• Organize and prioritize orders by manufacturing process, material, thickness and required ship dates.
• Perform continuous inspection of all artwork/layouts for any discrepancies and/or conflicting information and contact the appropriate individual for verification and corrections.
• Use root cause analysis to determine to cause of recuts/rework.
• Communicate effectively with other shifts and departments.
• Finishes faces of plaques/letters as required using stroke sander and/or buffing lathe.
• Maintain records of all internal recuts and rework.
• Operates all the department equipment in accordance with approved safety procedures and uses all safety devices approved by the department manager.
• Always performs duties in a safe manner and follows approved safety procedures
• Maintains an effective working relationship with fellow employees.
• Always maintains department in a neat and orderly manner.

Qualifications - Education & Experience

• High School Graduate /GED or equivalent demonstrated competency through work experience.
• Manufacturing experience preferred

Physical Demands

• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Operate a variety of power saws and routers, lifting metal sheets.
