Operations: This role is part of Blue Origin Operations, which is comprised of Integrated Supply Chain, Facilities, and as part of a hardworking team of diverse specialists, technicians, and engineers you will:
Supervise the production operations team being responsible for all functions of planning, scheduling, demands, assembly, and operations. Implements strategies meant to improve the organization's financial performance and driven positioning through continuous improvement of production-related processes. Identifies manufacturing processes or procedures that could benefit from process improvement or efficiency optimization and approves the implementation of changes.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
  • This Supervisor position on the weekday M-Th 1st shift will cover small groups of employees in several areas on the complex. Areas including CNC Programming & Tool Crib
  • Conduct performance reviews
  • Responsible for establishing SOPs, work queues, employee training, overtime assignments and back-up for absent employees.
  • Maintain and communicate programming and tool build schedule status to ensure meeting customer expectations
  • Provide first level escalation support to employees regarding HR issues (employee relations, worker's compensation, disciplinary actions, timecards, PTO requests)
  • Identifying Continuous Improvement opportunities and implementing change to improve process, reduce cycle and setup times
  • Facilitate communication with tool vendors for proper supply and training
  • Maintain all shop programs. These programs include 5S, Lean, Cleaning and Safety
  • Ensure all team members follow work instructions, quality requirements and processes
  • Ensure accurate production staff data recording. Namely clock-in/clock-out activities
  • Provide continued training and skills development for team members, and mentor early career team member
  • Ensure start-up readiness for production
  • Support design for manufacturing and provide job planning estimates
  • Ability to be a working supervisor within programming responsibilities
  • Ability to perform interviews, evaluate talent and provide hiring recommendations
  • Safely work within an industrial environment

Minimum Qualifications
  • Passion for our mission: Millions of people living and working in space!
  • 4 years minimum of management experience
  • 7 years minimum experience in or combination; CNC Programming in either Mastercam or Unigraphics NX
  • NC Programming experience for CNC Mills/Lathes/Multi axis mills and Multi axis lathes/VTLs
  • Root cause and corrective action analysis experience
  • Understand the department KPI's metrics to improve performance
  • Excellent blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 standard
  • Strong communication skills with a heavy customer focus
  • Must have a continuous improvement mentality
  • Clear understanding of production versus development environments
  • Fluent in use of precision hand tools
  • Familiar with use of personal computers
  • Self-motivation and ability to prioritize projects to meet completion dates
  • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 5S, Lean Manufacturing or Kaizen experience
  • Experience verifying NC Programs with Vericut software
  • Experience machining on multi-axis mills and lathes

Compensation range for on site WA applicants is
$42.62 - $59.67 USD
