If you are a skilled programmer looking for a new opportunity, Emerson has an exciting role for you! Based in our Branson Ultrasonics business headquarters in Brookfield, CT, the CNC Programmer will be responsible for programming CNC lathe parts as part of our machine shop. Selected hire would be eligible to receive a $1,000 sign on bonus!
AS CNC PROGRAMMER/OPERATOR, YOU WILL:
  • Plan machining by studying work orders, blueprints and material requirements.
  • Maintain specifications by programming and machining operations: drilling, grooving, cutting, turning, facing, knurling, milling, sub-spindle transfer and thread chasing operations.
  • Validate programming with Mastercam verify.
  • Set-up lathes by installing and adjusting three- and four-jaw chucks, tools, and attachments.
  • Design, build, alter or repair standard and specialized cutting tools.
  • Inspection and validation of manufactured parts
  • Document actions by completing production and quality logs.
  • Provide support to manufacturing departments when fabrication or alteration of standard parts are required to minimize down time in machining and assembly operations.
  • Maintain safe operations by adhering to safety procedures and regulations.
  • Complete preventive maintenance requirements to maintain equipment.
  • Ensure continuity among work shifts by documenting and communicating actions.

REQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • 5 years of lathe programming experience with 4-axis milling
  • Working knowledge of drawings, specifications and/or engineer/designer concepts. Must know the properties of most materials used in the trade. Must be capable of fabricating very complex and prototype tooling.
  • Must have a thorough knowledge and proficient operations of a wide variety of machines, with an ability to construct a broad variety of very complex tools and parts requiring analyses and interpretation of drawings and complex blueprints.
  • Must be able to determine methods and sequences of fabrication.
  • Ability to design tooling from an engineer's or designer's concept, sketch, drawing or oral instructions.
  • A high degree of ingenuity, analytical and technical ability required to produce completely assembled, inspected and tested equipment.

PREFERRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS:
  • Vocational High School graduate or completion of a state approved apprenticeship course with technical training/experience
  • Mastercam programming experience
