CNC Programmers are responsible for machine programing of CNC equipment in support of compliant, efficient, and profitable parts manufacturing and repair operations. This role supports tool selections, layout creation and updates, and CNC program writing and editing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily:
Draw up parts from the shop floor
Create a NC code for the part to be cutout on the Water Jet
Work with Engineering on converting files from DXF and DWG to NC code for parts to be made
Create shear nests for the Shear Operator to utilize the material for cost saving
Self-check work and inspect prior processes
Meet production goals
Maintain a clean and safe work area
Initiate process improvements when able
Work in close proximity to customer, as needed
Operate any equipment or tools needed to perform the job
Assist other team members and departments as needed
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent experience
Autocad and Solid Works training a Must
Some CNC nesting software experience helpful
Basic knowledge of the Water Jet cutting process
Understanding of the components of a Ultra High Pressure Water Pump
Ability to understand fully utilizing all material being nested
Ability to multi-taks, effective time management skills
Ability to read and use a tape measure to precise measurements
Ability to work in a team environment
Ability to maintain attendance within company guidelines
Ability to retain and apply instructions
Positive attitude
Work overtime on short notice
Embrace change
Basic computer skills, including Word, Access, and Excel experience
Basic math skills; addition, subtraction, multiplication and division
Must be detailed orientated
Ability to read and understand truck specification documents
Ability to communicate and understand in English
Ability to work within safety guidelines
Must be self-motivated
Must be able to work with little to no supervision after two weeks
