Summary
The CNC Operator Class 1 is an entry-level position and will be required to perform a variety of duties in the operation and maintenance of Computer Numerical Controlled (CNC) machine tools such as vertical and horizontal milling centers. Comply with all safety and environmental rules and regulations; support all 6S and lean initiatives. Performs preventative maintenance tasks on machines per the required scheduled routine checklist. They will be responsible for ensuring that all manufactured parts meet all quality standards based on internal (IPs) and customer blueprints using the appropriate inspection equipment. They will participate in problem-solving activities, collaborate with team members to make improvements, support, and help drive the company culture of Collaboration, Accountability, and Transformative.
Description and Duties
- Run multiple CNC machines.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Detect and report improper operation, faulty equipment, and unusual conditions.
- Detect and report significant variances in job standards.
- Perform secondary operations as defined by travelers, using various machines/tools such as files, drill presses, and sanders.
- Ensure the quality of parts before forwarding them to the next operation/process.
- Responsible for maintaining current 6S practices and the general housekeeping of the Company.
- Report any unsafe conditions to the Supervisor/Management/Maintenance.
- Other duties as assigned.
