Cnc Machinist

SUMMARY:This position is responsible for fabricating parts and making tooling from raw materials for maintenance, production and engineering for the overall purpose of manufacturing binders according to written specifications by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

1. Manufacture all types of machined parts to sample or specification. Manufacture die-cutting, sealing, and specialty dies to engineering specifications.
2. Repair, rerule, or sharpen all types of punches, dies, and assemblies.
3. Operate conventional mills, CNC mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, band saws, Mig welder, Tig welder, gas torch etc.
4. Grind turning and boring tools by hand and sharpen drills, cutting blades, etc.
5. Care for and maintain the condition of all machine tools.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

• Basic skills in Master Cam X4 making 2 ½’ D wire frame drawings and using this to generate NC program for CNC 3-axis mill.  Basic skills with Hass TM-1, Anilam 3000m 3 axis, and Crusader ii 3 axis CNC Mill.
• Basic skills with Wells Index manual mill with or without DRO.  Basic Skills with Rockwell 9 x 32 manual lathe and Clausing Colchester 21 x 80 manual lathe.
• Basic skills with manual drill presses and bandsaws.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree
• One to three years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl; stand or walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk or hear and occasionally required to sit or climb or balance. The employee must frequently lift up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.

Mon – Thur 5:00 AM to 3:30 PM
