CNC Operator/Machinist

Jewell Group is currently seeking 1st shift (5:30am-4:00pm) and 2nd shift (4:00pm-2:30am) CNC operators in the production of industrial parts for an assortment of industries. The standard operating schedule is 10-hour days, Monday through Friday.

This position requires operating a CNC lathe or mill in the production and inspection of metal parts. The operator will need the ability to lift to 70 pounds, have excellent hand eye coordination, be able to read numbers that go into the thousandths (0.123), and be able to read and follow simple directions for quality and/or rate. While day to day operations remain similar, the parts and machines may vary, so the ability to adapt and learn is extremely important.

We have found proven success in employees with backgrounds in construction, concrete work, auto mechanic, aviation repair, carpentry, pipe-fitting, and masonry, among many others. Many of these jobs have a skill set that matches well with a CNC operator’s daily performance. Please apply even if you have little to no experience. Typical responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

• Production of parts and tools by use of CNC machines
• Following customer and company "in-process inspections"
• Properly measuring final product using calipers, micrometers, and other quality assurance devices
• Deburring, cleaning, and packaging finished products
• Minimizing scrap parts/materials
• Meeting production goals/quotas
• Cleaning the machine and surrounding area
