The CNC Lathe Machinist will be responsible for setting up and operating CNC lathes to produce precision parts. The machinist will work with a variety of materials and will be responsible for ensuring that all parts meet quality standards and specifications.
Responsibilities:- Set up and operate CNC lathes (execute program, change tooling, oversee program execution); monitor machine to determine adjustments
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine cutting procedures and plan machine setups and operational sequences
- Inspect and measure work pieces to ensure surfaces and dimensions meet specifications
- Maintain efficient tool use and compensate with tool offsets, spindle rpm and feed rate
- Write program code (G-Code)
- Maintain tooling inventory for department
- Adjust tools to produce specified cuts
- Compute numbers, widths, angles of cutting tools, micrometers, scales, indications and gauges
- Review, analyze, and recommend changes to existing procedures in promotion of continuous improvement
- Follow all safety procedures and guidelines
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum of 3 years of experience operating CNC lathes
- Ability to read and interpret GD&T part prints, drawings, and specifications
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to lift > 35 pounds
