CNC Lathe & MachiningCenter Operator: Rockford, Illinois

Our Rockford, Illinois, based client designs, manufactures, and assembles custom gearboxes for the Global Power Transmission market. Responsibilities:
- Completes setups and documentation of part-specific setups. Stages work and orders tooling as required in advance of upcoming work order completion.
- Interpret engineering drawings and blueprints to produce accurate and high-quality parts
- Monitor and adjust machine settings for optimal performance
- Conduct routine maintenance on machines to ensure smooth operation
- Inspect finished products for quality assurance
- Collaborate with the engineering team to optimize production processes
- Assures cleanliness and organization of department tooling, fixturing, and preventative maintenance of equipment in all assigned areas of the plant
- Operates fork truck as needed for staging production parts and for moving and storage of equipment for machine centers
Qualifications:
- Requires high school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 10 plus years of direct work experience in gear machine set-up in production environment for CNC Lathes or Machining Centers.
- Ability to interpret production schedules, blueprints, reports, routings, inspection masters, work scheduling processes, and machine capabilities.
- Specific Gear Machining Knowledge is required. Helical, Spur and Worm gearing knowledge is a must. An understanding of Gear Inspection equipment, operation, and set-up is needed.
- Experience with CNC Lathe set-up, debugging, and operations. Must demonstrate prior experience with CNC Operation of Mazak or NC Programing (G and M code). Mori SL experience a plus.
- Ability to follow applicable Quality System requirements and work in a team environment to accomplish the objectives of the company.
Pay: $35-40/hour, based on experience. OT is available.
Type: 1st Shift, Full-time; Part-time also available
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 7 a.m. – 3:30 p.m.
