CNC Gantry Mill Loader - Setup (2nd Shift)

Key Job Responsibilities

• Sets up, loads and unloads parts on Gantry CNC Controlled Machine (Waldrich Coburg) and secures rigidly for machining. Establishes machine reference lines. Presets Tools.
• Receives work assignments; secures drawings, program manuscript; determines fixtures, type and number of necessary jacks, shims, clamps, parallels, blocks and etc.. Make close measurements to locate piece to predetermined points from the end, top and side of floor plate as directed by the manuscript. May secure planning assistance from the operator.
• Hitches and using overhead crane positions work piece on table laying out and scribing necessary reference lines for machining assuring sufficient stock for machining operation and clearances.
• Secures part to floor plate sufficiently exercising care to avoid distortion or springing of work piece.
• Occasionally will assist operator by observing tool path decade dial switches/dial indicators and actuate the machine in semiautomatic operation while operator observes the cut; assembles throw away blades to milling cutters, indicates and tightens blades. - changes inserts, maintaining tolerances set in preset machine.
• Preset tools, loads them in tool changer, using machine computer.
• Removes piece from table, stamps if required, remove burrs, cleans out chips and coolant and sets piece aside.
• Applies rust preventative to machined surfaces, if necessary.
• Maintains inventory of fixtures and other clamping tools in good operating condition.
• Performs above operations on large structures.
• Lubricate machine and equipment as needed, assists with cleaning and repair of machine when required.

Qualifications/Requirements

• CNC set up experience preferred. CNC Machine Operation experience. Gantry Mill experience preferred.
• Ability to work 2nd Shift.
• Must be able to communicate well within a team structure.
• Available for work approximately 40 hours per week.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to multi-task and be flexible.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality-always.
• Team oriented.
• May be asked to work weekends. Ability to work weekends as needed.
