APN Healthcare Solutions is urgently hiring multiple Certified Nursing Assistants for our client in Portland, OR for a 13 week contract with a high possibility of extension.
Position Title: CNA
Pay Rate:$28-$30/hr
Work Location: Portland, OR Oregon City is open as well
Shift : Days or nights
Hours/day: 12 (36hrs/wk) 8 hrs available as well
Contract Duration:13 weeks
License Requirement: OR CNA

Job Title: Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Medical Surgical Unit
Overview: We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Nursing Assistant to join our Medical Surgical Unit team. As a CNA on the Medical Surgical Unit, you will play a crucial role in providing direct patient care, promoting patient comfort, and assisting the nursing staff in maintaining a high standard of care. Responsibilities:
Patient Care:
- Provide direct patient care under the supervision of registered nurses.
- Assist with activities of daily living, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility.
- Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure, temperature, and pulse.
- Collaborate with the healthcare team to implement patient care plans.
Assistance in Procedures:
- Assist nurses during medical and surgical procedures.
- Prepare patients for surgeries and other interventions.
- Maintain a clean and organized environment in patient rooms and treatment areas.
Communication:
- Communicate effectively with patients and their families, addressing concerns and providing emotional support.
- Report changes in patients' conditions to the nursing staff promptly.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care.
Documentation:
- Accurately document patient care activities and observations in medical records.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA regulations.
Safety and Infection Control:
- Adhere to infection control protocols to prevent the spread of infections.
- Ensure patient safety by following established procedures and protocols.
Education and Training:
- Participate in ongoing education and training programs to enhance skills and stay updated on industry best practices.
- Provide assistance and support to nursing students and new staff members.

Experience:
- Previous experience as a nursing assistant or in a similar role preferred
- Familiarity with patient care procedures and protocols
- Knowledge of medical terminology and basic healthcare practices
- Experience working in settings such as assisted living facilities or hospitals is a plus
- Proficiency in using electronic medical records systems (e.g., Cerner) is desirable
- Experience in specialized areas such as sterile processing or dementia care is an asset
