Our non-profit organization was founded in 1952 and has evolved into a premier provider of home health, hospice and non-medical support services throughout southern Sanilac, St. Clair and northern Macomb counties. We are looking for a CENA to join our team and provide quality care to our patients. The ideal candidate will have experience in hospice and palliative medicine. The ideal candidate will provide basic personal care for terminally ill patients in accordance with the plan of care designed by the RN. Perform related tasks as delegated by the RN. Document services and report observed condition of the patient to the assigned RN. This person will also effectively interact with families and members of interdisciplinary teams. They will also be committed to providing compassionate care.
Requirements:
- Respond to call lights / patient needs in a timely manner.
- Maintain dignity and safety of patient at all times.
- Support the patient and family spiritual and emotional needs.
- Immediately report any emergency situation to the RN on duty and Director of Hospice.
- Adhere to the patients plan of care as designed by the RN
- Monitor and record temperature, pulse, respirations, and blood pressure, as directed by the RN. Report significant changes in the patient’s condition to the RN immediately.
- Record intake/output. Report and significant changes to the RN immediately.
- Complete aide plan of care interventions and document these services in the chart. Responsible for ensuring own entries are complete and accurate.
- Perform chart audits as required.
- May be required to assist housekeeping and kitchen staff as needed.
- Attend all mandatory education and in-service programs.
- Participate in Continuous Quality Improvement activities.
- Supports the organization by adhering to company and regulatory policies and procedures.
