Job Summary:
This position is a senior-level cybersecurity analyst role on the Caterpillar Cybersecurity Vulnerability Management Team and will provide subject matter expertise for the advancement, execution, and sustainability of the Cloud Web Application Firewall (CWAF) Program. This role will be the “face of the program” and serve as a liaison between the CWAF Team and business stakeholders, as well as Web Application owners and IT platform teams to ensure Web Application Firewall protections are in place for Caterpillar internet-accessible applications. Additionally, this role will be accountable for the long-term strategic direction of the program, service and supporting tools. Strong technical expertise, business acumen, along with up-to-date understanding of Web Application Firewall are foundational skills required.
What You Will Do:
• Lead the strategic direction and execution of the CWAF Program,
• Develop and maintain annual CWAF Program Roadmap
• Provide support of CWAF operational tools and processes.
• Vendor and relationship management with CWAF supplier.
• Serve as a liaison between the CWAF Team and business stakeholders, as well as Web Application owners and IT platform teams to ensure Web Application Firewall protections are in place for Caterpillar internet-accessible applications.
• Provide education and guidance about CWAF tool and process best practices.
• Perform customer outreach meetings to share service expansion & improvements.
• Provide operational process recommendations to ensure successful migration and maintenance of applications protected by the CWAF.
• Set priorities based on customer impact/understanding, pain points.
• Execute ITSM (Incident/Problem/Change) for the CWAF team.
• Travel expected is 2 times a year for 1-week increment for in-person strategy planning.
What You Have:
• Bachelor (4 year) degree in Security Engineering/Architecture, Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a related field
• 5+ years of Cybersecurity, Cyber Threat Assessment, Risk Management, Information Technology experience
• Expert-level knowledge of Web Application Firewall tools, concepts, methodologies
• One or more professional information security certifications from an accredited institution (CISSP, CCSP, CSSLP, CISM, GISCP, GWAPT, GWEB etc.)
• Good Knowledge of OWASP Guidelines for application security.
• Excellent critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Exhibit strong influencing / negotiation skills as well as written/verbal communication skills and presentation skills.
• Good documentation and process development skills.
