LMI is seeking a Cloud Network Engineer Subject Matter Expert to support a United States Army client, developing a next generation command and control platform.

This position requires an active Secret clearance.
Responsibilities- Responsible for evaluating cloud-based technical solutions/designs in accordance with client requirements
- Provide expertise to monitor the designing and engineering of infrastructure and applications to the Cloud
- Responsible for ensuring that all vendor solutions comply with industry and Government-mandated security protocols, controls, and best-practices
- Work closely with Cybersecurity resources to document controls, support accreditation, Interim Authorization to Test (IATT) and Authority to Operate (ATO) documentation and provide metrics to comply with audits
- Responsible for escalating issues, problems, risks, and constraints to the appropriate levels for clarification and resolution
- Understanding of circuit types and general bandwidth per type
- Knowledge (understanding) of logical Network Topologies
- Knowledge of various operating systems (Windows, Linux, MacOS)
- Understanding of network device types, especially firewalls, routers, switches and Wide Area Network (WAN) Optimizer appliances
- Ability to understand and assist with network design diagrams to better support the program and overall understanding of network activities
- Understanding of Virtual Route Forwarding (VRF), Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and other network security capabilities available for potential system use
- Provide Technical and Strategic Subject Matter Expertise on transport solutions from Denied, Distributed, Intermittent, and Low-bandwidth (DDIL) environments to a cloud-based environment
- Support long-term planning of LMI internal and Program macro planning
- Engage and manage relationships across the US Army, LMI and Industry
- Perform unsupervised, hands-on work in DoD based cloud environments
- Work independently within team environments to set up and maintain cloud architectures
- Manage multiple and competing customer priorities with little supervision
- Develop High Availability and Disaster Recovery processes in accordance with government and industry guidelines
Required:
- STEM BS degree
- 5-years relevant experience/or 10+ years of experience in Lieu of a degree
- Direct experience working with US Army communications
- Experience in providing full life cycle systems engineering support to large, complex programs
- Familiar with DHS or DoD Acquisition Lifecycle Framework (ALF)
- Familiar with DHS Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) framework
- Experienced in requirements analysis
- Experience in developing engineering plans, trade studies, CONOPS documents, and decision papers
- Knowledge of a broad spectrum of technical fields and engineering disciplines
- Strong problem-solving skills, organizational skills, communication skills, and leadership skills
- Self-motivated, proactive, independent performer who can perform well in a collaborative, team environment
- Individuals with good technology, network and security understanding and the soft skills to work with others to get technical things done correctly.
- At least one Network Certification such as NET+, CCNA, or higher
- A DoD 8570.01 approved certification such as SEC+, Certified Cloud Security Practitioner (CCSP), or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP)
- An AWS cloud associate level certification such as Solutions Architect, Developer, or SysOps Admin.
- Active DoD Secret clearance
Desired:
- 10+ years of relevant experience
- MS degree in systems engineering or other relevant field
- Experience working in IL6 or equivalent secure environments
- Experience with security requirements in a federal IT environment, including FedRAMP-certified providers and FISMA requirements for acquiring an ATO
- Experience with Agile and containerization methodologies or strategies
