Cloud Engineer Ii

Summary of Position

The Cloud Engineer II is responsible for managing and maintaining YoungWilliams Azure cloud environments. The Cloud Engineer II must have an understanding of Azure services and architecture and will work closely with various IT Infrastructure teams to ensure the cloud infrastructure aligns with the company's needs and compliance standards.

Essential Job Requirements

• Administers the Azure cloud environment, including virtual machines, storage accounts, and network components.
• Updates and maintains Azure Active Directory, Azure SQL Database, and Azure Storage solutions.
• Administers and maintains security protocols and measures to ensure data security within the Azure cloud environment.
• Ensures compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations.
• Automates repetitive tasks within the Azure environment using Azure Automation, PowerShell, and other scripting languages.
• Optimizes the Azure environment for cost, performance, and scalability.
• Implements and manages disaster recovery solutions.
• Oversees regular backup procedures and test the integrity of those backups.
• Provides advanced technical support for Azure related issues.
• Troubleshoots and resolves issues related to Azure services and infrastructure.
• Collaborates with IT teams to integrate Azure cloud services with other parts of the organization's IT infrastructure.
• Coordinates with external vendors and consultants on Azure-related projects.
• Maintains detailed documentation for the Azure environment setup, configurations, and procedures.
• Prepares reports on cloud usage, performance, and costs.
• Other duties as assigned.

Required Education/Certification

Bachelor’s or Associate’s degree in computer science, Information Systems, or related field.

And/or certifications in Microsoft Azure, such as Azure Fundamentals and Azure Administrator Associate, 3-5 years of experience in IT, with at least 2 years focused on cloud technology.

Skills Required

• Knowledge of cloud computing and Azure services, features, and deployment options.
• Experience with PowerShell or other scripting languages.
• Familiarity with networking principles and technologies (e.g., DNS, TCP/IP, firewalls, network security).
