The Purpose of Your Role

As a Clinician I, your role is integral in supporting and ensuring the safety, effectiveness, and efficiency of the IOP team and clients, aiming for the highest quality standards. You'll assist in specific departmental tasks, communication, conflict resolution, critical thinking, and effective time management. Collaboration with the team is crucial to maintain treatment fidelity, company policies, and client satisfaction. We seek an individual who embodies leadership, is receptive to feedback, proactively learns specialized treatments, and embraces initiative.

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):

  • Achieve an average Symptom Reduction 65%
  • Achieve a Customer Satisfaction of 4.5
  • Achieve an Average Length of Stay (ALOS) of 52 days per client
  • Achieve an average of 52 days of authorized treatment days
  • Achieve 10% or less of Early Discharges
  • Achieve 100% accuracy of documentation at month-close audit

Please note: When you achieve any of the above key indicators your supervisor will counsel with you to set a new goal.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate Alumni sessions and mentor Behavioral Health Technicians (BHTs).
  • Improve Client Motivation and Adherence to the recommendation of length of stay.
  • Report motivation and barriers in treatment team meetings.
  • Monitor and report treatment follow-through rates.
  • Collaborate on motivational strategies.
  • Address barriers to adherence with treatment recommendations and length of stay.
  • Provide validation and a supportive environment for clients, motivating them to work through distress and eliminate neutralizing behaviors through clinical interactions and skills development.
  • Maintain a minimum flexible caseload of 12 clients based on facility needs.
  • Engage in 28 hours of face-to-face client interactions, including new starts, family sessions, groups, and overseeing treatment on the floor with BHTs.
  • Collaborate closely with the direct manager and the treatment team to ensure adherence to programming, operations, and problem-solving for scheduling and treatment concerns.
  • Maintain comprehensive written documentation such as progress and group therapy notes, ensuring high client satisfaction, and managing potential grievances.
  • Oversee psychotherapeutic interventions for OCD and other mental health disorders, including case conceptualization, treatment planning, crisis management, and comprehensive documentation.
  • Plan, organize, and implement evidence-based protocols for group settings and individual psychotherapy for clients of all ages.
  • Support Lead Clinicians by identifying and addressing issues in documentation and customer service audits, along with assisting in training the team in protocols and program types to meet clinical needs.
  • Clearly articulate the medical necessity of the treatment or intervention.
  • Reference relevant clinical guidelines, research, or medical literature supporting your recommendation.
  • Highlight any potential risks or complications if the recommended days are not covered.
  • Be prepared to explain the clinical rationale verbally, using clear and concise language.
  • Address any questions or concerns the insurance provider may have.
  • Emphasize the impact on the patient's health and well-being, reinforcing the necessity of the recommended days.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assume a supervisory role in specific situations, such as intern supervision and BHT-run groups.
  • Create 3 SMART goals each quarter with the Associate Program Director (APD) to improve your skills as a clinician.
  • Foster a positive work environment by actively supporting teamwork, encouraging open communication, and modeling a collaborative and respectful approach to interactions with colleagues and team members.
  • Support and model TOATC business processes and master de-escalation techniques and crisis planning.
  • Adhere strictly to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

The Skills and Expertise You Have:

  • Master's degree or higher in social work, clinical mental health counseling, marriage and family therapy, Pd.D, Psy.D.
  • Current and unrestricted state licensure.
  • Professional presentation, excellent punctuality, and exceptional attendance.
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, problem-solving, interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a changing work environment and demonstrate flexibility.
  • Proficiency in accurate and efficient electronic data entry and computer software.
  • Capable of meeting the physical demands of the job, including prolonged sitting, bending, lifting, and walking.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • 2+ years’ experience in a mental health position.
  • Experience with OCD and anxiety.
  • Experience in cognitive behavioral therapy and dialectical behavior therapy.
