If this sounds like a good fit to you, we are seeking applicants for a Clinician on our Developmental Disabilities Crisis Prevention and Court Services team located in Pocatello or Idaho Falls. The Crisis Prevention and Court Services Team is an interdisciplinary team currently training to the best practice standards established by the National Center for START services. The National Center for START Services is an initiative that works to strengthen efficiencies and service outcomes for people with IDD and mental health needs in the community. It is a person-centered, solutions-focused approach that employs positive psychology and other evidence-based practices. EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:

  • Applies clinical skills to assess client and family needs and formulates assessment and therapeutic recommendations to ameliorate risk factors. 
  • Designs, implements, and directs clinical therapies and rehabilitation programs. 
  • Provides clinical case management services. 
  • Evaluates treatment effectiveness and client/family outcomes. 
  • Provides emergency and crisis intervention. 
  • Presents assessment results to multidisciplinary team and participates in treatment planning.
  • Provides forensic services including but not limited to court ordered evaluations. 
  • Coordinates program with other service providers and community organizations. 
  • Provides client, family, and community education services. 
  • Serves as a designated examiner and dispositioner. 
  • Designs/implements training. 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

You must possess all the minimum qualifications below to pass the exam for this position.   • A Master's Degree (or higher) in a direct clinical practice Human Services field is required for this position. (Master's degree in social work, psychology, marriage and family counseling, marriage and family therapy, psychosocial rehabilitation counseling, psychiatric nursing, or very closely related field of study.)
  • Idaho requires licensure for individuals who possess a Master's degree in Social Work or Counseling: Licensed Masters Social Worker (LMSW), Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Professional Counselors (LPC), Licensed Pastoral Counselors (LPAS), Licensed Clinical Professional Counselors (LCPC), and Licensed Marriage & Family Therapists (LMFT). Below is preferred experience. It is not required for the position but applicants with this experience may receive consideration over other applicants.

  • Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities. Gained by at least one year of related professional experience. 
  • Some knowledge of court procedures and practices. Gained by completion of related college course work or at least one year of professional experience that required working with court systems. 
  • Good knowledge of mental health and developmental disability social services/support services. Gained by at least one year of related professional experience that required knowledge of available resources and services.
