Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center, Indiana's first community mental health center, provides comprehensive care for emotional and behavioral problems, including severe mental illness and substance abuse. The Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center offers both inpatient and outpatient services, including several outreach centers as well as clinic- and community-based services.
The Focus of Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program
The Child and Adolescent Outpatient Program provides services to children and Adolescents ages 3 to 18 years old in our clinic. Our team uses evidence-based practice intervention to assist clients with daily stressors, trauma, anger management, substance use/abuse, abuse and neglect, and other mental health barriers.
Where You Fit In:
As a Child and Adolescent Outpatient Clinician, you will provide mental health services to children and Adolescents in an outpatient setting. Your primary responsibility will be to assess, diagnose, and treat various mental health conditions, while working collaboratively with clients and their families to develop effective treatment plans.
What to Expect
The Clinician performs a variety of individual, family and group therapeutic interventions utilizing evidence-based practices. This position manages a caseload of clients identifying therapeutic, rehabilitative and case management needs, engaging other team members in meeting these needs as indicated. This role requires excellent communication skills, empathy, and a strong understanding of Child and Adolescent development.
Am I Qualified?
  • Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Worker, or a related field.
  • Licensure or eligibility for licensure as a mental health professional, is required. Such as LSW, MFT, MHC, LCSW, LMFT, or LMHC.
  • Valid Indiana driver's license that meets Eskenazi Health's driving policy requirements
  • Strong knowledge of Child and Adolescent development, as well as various mental health disorders and treatment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to establish rapport with clients and their families.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, collaborating with other professionals to provide comprehensive care.
  • Proficiency in conducting assessments, diagnosing mental health conditions, and developing treatment plans.
  • Familiarity with evidence-based therapeutic interventions such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavior therapy (DBT), and play therapy.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines and professional standards.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to manage a caseload and meet documentation requirements.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of children and Adolescents, including biopsychosocial evaluation (BPSE), diagnostic interviews, psychological testing, and reviewing relevant medical records.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, utilizing evidence-based therapeutic interventions and techniques.
  • Provide individual, family, and group therapy interventions utilizing evidence-based practices.
  • Collaborate with clients and their families to establish treatment goals and regularly review progress, making necessary adjustments to the treatment plan as needed.
  • Offer crisis intervention services when necessary, ensuring the safety and will-being of clients.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical documentation, including progress notes, treatment plans, and discharge summaries, in compliance with legal and ethical standards.
  • Identity community resources and assist with coordinating services needed.
  • Coordinate and communicate with other healthcare professionals such as psychiatrists, social workers, and school therapists, to ensure a comprehensive and integrated approach to care.
  • Stay informed about current research, best practices, and emerging trends in Child and Adolescent mental health, attending relevant trainings, and professional opportunities.
  • Participate in team meetings and supervision sessions to enhance clinical skills and receive feedback.
  • Adhere to all ethical guidelines and professional standards.

  • Strong interpersonal skills with ability to be both clear and concise in written and verbal communications
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of psychiatric/addiction diagnoses and understanding of their impact on behavior and all life domains.
  • Demonstrates solid knowledge of psychotropic medications and their uses and side effects.
  • Willingness and ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary team.
  • Ability to use age-appropriate communication skills.
  • Ability to interpret and apply complex directives, information, and regulations.
  • Crisis intervention skills

Sandra Eskenazi Mental Health Center's primary mission is to serve individuals with serious mental illness and chronic addiction as well as seriously emotionally disturbed children and their families. Patients of all ages are welcomed, from children to seniors, with a philosophy of care that stresses strength-based and family- and community-centered treatment utilizing the Recovery Model of treatment.
