Clinical Supervisor
Department of Counseling
St. Edward's University of Austin, Texas invites applications for the position of Clinical Supervisor. The Clinical Supervisor will assist in the oversight of operations of the St. Edward's Community Counseling Clinic. The St. Edward's Community Counseling Clinic was established to provide clinical training opportunities for students completing the Masters of Arts in Counseling (MAC) program. In addition to training opportunities for graduate students, the clinic provides counseling services to the Austin community and across Texas at a zero to reduced rate. Part-time (8 hours/week).
For consideration, A Master's degree in Counseling or a related field and full state licensure (LPC, LMFT, LCSW) is required. Must have a working knowledge of clinical supervision and mental health counseling services delivery. Knowledge of equity, inclusion, and culturally appropriate services. Ability to work congruently within the mission of the university, school, and department. Must have a working knowledge of HIPPA and FERPA and an understanding of the ethical and legal standards of the counseling profession. Must be available to work during clinic hours (Monday-Thursday 1-8 pm). Must also have the ability to successfully pass a criminal background check. Preferred qualifications include two years post full licensure professional experience, knowledge of the licensing requirements of LPC and LMFT in Texas, Spanish fluency, and experience working with BIPOC communities.
Essential Responsibilities Include:
- Provide weekly individual/triadic supervision to student counselor interns(supervisees) assigned to the Clinic
- Monitor counseling sessions during clinic hours to assess any potential for risk and provide crisis services as needed
- Review and signoff on session notes, treatment plans, and all clinical documentation produced by the student intern.
- Respond to active crises during clinic operating hours
- Review the recording of counseling sessions
- Evaluate students throughout the semester and provide on going feedback
- Assist students in writing treatment plans, goals, and weekly session notes
- Consult with MAC faculty and other professionals
- Engage in remediation when necessary
- Responsible for regulatory and policy compliance as it applies to the perform other duties as assigned
