Definition
The Clinical Services manager is a mid-level position which reports to the vice president of coalition development while working closely with several other clinical pharmacists. The individual works autonomously and as part of a team. The Clinical Services manager will utilize clinical and analytical skills to positively impact the health of clients and members while helping reduce health care costs. This position may require up to 5% travel.
Qualifications:
· Proven account management or other relevant experience.
· General but functional understanding of a pharmacy benefits manager, employer self-funding and employee benefits.
· Proven ability to manage multiple projects at a time while paying strict attention to detail.
· Ability to read, analyze and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures and government regulations.
· Microsoft office with a strong understanding of Excel.
· Written and verbal communication (listening, feedback; translating complex ideas/processes), collaboration, analytical thinking/critical thinking, results-oriented and organizational skills.
· Valid pharmacy license.
Clinical Responsibilities:
· Evaluate, recommend, and monitor CVS/Caremark clinical programs offered or implemented by the coalition.
· Evaluate and monitor CVS/Caremark utilization reports and develop internal coalition reports as needed.
· Pro clinical consulting services through analyzing drug utilization patterns and trends for our members.
· Provide various Clinical Services including prior authorization and high dollar claims review services to members of the Cooperative
· Assist with development of plan performance reports for members and overall coalition performance reporting.
· Act as resource to coalition members and coalition staff on clinical initiatives.
· Assist with larger client and selective sales opportunities, including finalist presentations.
· Develop and implement coalition-specific initiatives/programs.
· Design and monitor studies to evaluate clinical programs.
· Assist with development of a variety of coalition communication materials; including marketing/educational support materials, newsletter and website content.
· Research current medical literature and other references as necessary for support of coalition clinical programs.
· Interact with PBM account team on specific clinical coalition initiatives.
· Develop and implement community initiatives (safety issues) as required.
· Present to stakeholders including CE classes, seminars and webinars
