Job Description: Clinic Research Nurse Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Clinic/Research Nurse Coordinator. As the Nurse Coordinator, you will serve as the primary point of contact for patients throughout their healthcare journey, from diagnosis to treatment completion. Your role will be pivotal in providing personalized support and guidance to patients, ensuring they receive seamless care and assistance at every step of the process.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

- Act as the main liaison between patients and healthcare providers, facilitating effective communication and collaboration.

- Provide individualized support and assistance to patients, addressing their concerns, answering questions, and offering guidance throughout their healthcare experience.

- Coordinate appointments, tests, and procedures for patients, ensuring timely access to necessary healthcare services.

- Educate patients about their diagnosis, treatment options, and healthcare resources available to them.

- Advocate for patients' needs and preferences within the healthcare system, striving to enhance their overall experience and satisfaction.

- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to each patient's unique needs and circumstances.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, documenting interactions, appointments, and treatment progress.

- Monitor patients' progress and outcomes, providing ongoing support.

- Assists with obtaining authorizations biologic and infusions therapies.

- Assists provider with writing appeals and/or preparing appeal packets.

- Patient education regarding diagnoses and specific medication.

- Instruction on self-administration of prescribed therapies as needed.

- Serves as research RN for infusion studies per protocols.

- Monitors patients during infusions and reports any adverse effects to sub-investigator or PI

- Assist coordinators with blood draws, medication administration, clinical therapies (vital signs, ECGs, PFTs, etc)

REQUIRED EDUCATION:

- Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, preferred or Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, nursing, social work, or related field

- Previous experience in a healthcare or patient care role is advantageous.

- Registered nurse with valid nursing license in Colorado.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with patients and healthcare professionals.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, capable of managing multiple tasks and priorities simultaneously.

- Empathy, compassion, and a genuine desire to help others.

- Proficiency in basic computer applications and electronic medical records systems.

- Ability to work independently as well as part of a multidisciplinary team.

- Commitment to upholding patient confidentiality and privacy standards.

- Computer skills: familiar with electronic medical records and Microsoft Office(Excel, Word, and Access).

- Professional verbal and written communication skills.

EQUIPMENT USED:

Standard office equipment, including, but not limited to computer, phone, fax, copier. Medical equipment to include vitals machine and infusion pump (Syringe, Volumetric), vital signs equipment, oxygen tanks and nebulizers.

- The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

- The work environment is indoors in a medical office and is generally quiet, to include sounds of medical equipment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $35.00 - $40.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.00 per week
