Vaccination for COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) is mandatory for all MSK staff. Staff are considered fully vaccinated upon completion of a primary vaccination series for COVID-19 (i.e., one dose of a single dose vaccine or a final dose of a multi-dose vaccine series). Exceptions from the COVID-19 and Influenza (flu) vaccine requirements are permitted for those who request and receive an approved medical, religious, or fully remote exemption. Requests for exemption can take up to two weeks to review. Vaccination or an approved exemption is required to start work.
We have an exciting opportunity for a Clinical Radiotherapy Physicist!
This role is part of the Division of Clinical Radiotherapy Physics within the Department of Medical Physics at our Manhattan Campus.
We Are:- Enterprise-wide we are equipped with thirty linear accelerators, one MR-Linac, six HDR units, CT, PET/CT and MRI Simulators. As well as innovative inter- and intra-fractional imaging and motion management capabilities.
- Brachytherapy equipment for the GU (LDR and HDR) and GYN (HDR) programs includes three Varian afterloaders, two brachytherapy rooms with in-room CT/fluoroscopy/ultrasound, and access to MRI and CT simulators.
- In addition these services are provided for intraoperative radiotherapy using two HDR-enabled operating rooms. Support is also provided for a busy ocular brachytherapy program.
- Join a team of 45 physicists and 20 dosimetrists who provide services at Main Campus.
- MSK has a large, groundbreaking program in radiation oncology physics. We seek to improve the clinical effectiveness of radiation therapy. This is a partnership between radiation oncologists, radiologists, and other medical professionals.
- Primarily support the brachytherapy service.
- Work on clinical development or projects as needed.
- Master’s degree in medical physics or related physical sciences or equivalent.
- Min 2 years experience as a Radiotherapy Physicist
- Passed Part 2 of the ABR certification in therapeutic radiological physics process and be able to obtain a NY state license.
- Board certification, clinical experience in brachytherapy, and programming skills are preferred but not required.
