PURPOSE AND SCOPE:
Coordinates external Clinical Quality Data reporting. Ensures accurate data submissions to third party agencies using software applications and reporting vehicles, the National Health Safety Network (NHSN) and Dialysis Facility Compare. Supports and facilitates accurate Clinical Quality Data entry and reporting to external reporting entities such as Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) and Centers for Disease Control (CDC).
PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitors data management and operational data entry processes pertaining to Clinical Quality Data reporting to ensure accurate and timely data delivery to governmental agencies.
- Conducts root cause analyses of external Clinical Quality Data reporting variances to assist operations and IT personnel to identify the issue. Coordinates efforts to ensure resolution of the variances, substantiates resolution and communicates as appropriate to clinical and operational personnel, IT personnel and third party agencies
- Audits and evaluates internal clinical system elements and data entry processes to identify deficiencies resulting in external data reporting inaccuracies. Coordinates and communicates modification of processes to ensure accurate and consistent Clinical Quality Data delivery to external governmental data delivery systems.
- Audits and tracks external Clinical Quality reporting issues and errors. Detects root causes, determines trends and solutions, identifying best practices to improve data entry accuracy at the facility level. Monitors the rate of improvements making adjustments to procedures as appropriate to ensure data entry accuracy.
- Identifies Clinical Quality Data entry and data management processes necessary for accurate and timely external data delivery for facilities transitioning from an alternate clinical system and ensures communication and adoption of processes through appropriate operational resources.
- Collaborates with the regulatory department to ensure all newly acquired and newly certified facilities are appropriately registered and technically equipped for external Clinical Quality Data reporting.
- Collaborates with IT to identify solutions to complex data entry and technical batch submission issues that result in incorrect Clinical Quality Data submission to external entities. Communicates issues as needed and assists with implementation of solutions when appropriate.
- Communicates and collaborates with ESRD networks to identify and resolve external Clinical Quality Data related reporting issues.
- Educates and informs clinical staff regarding the Clinical Quality Data external reporting and data entry processes and responsibilities pertaining to the processes at the facility level. Explains the reporting requirements and other information as applicable, providing input for training programs and educational resources for use by the Education and Quality teams.
- Responds to and resolves helpdesk tickets related to external Clinical Quality reporting in a timely and efficient manner.
- Monitors external Clinical Quality Data reporting requirements on an ongoing basis to identify new and updated reporting requirements. Communicates new or updated requirements to appropriate personnel as appropriate.
- Coordinates the notification to operational staff regarding governmental resourced auditing of external Clinical Quality Data reporting source systems.
- May escalate issues to supervisor for resolution, as deemed necessary.
- Assist with various projects as assigned by direct supervisor.
- Other duties as assigned.

EDUCATION:
- High School Diploma required; Associate's Degree in Business, Healthcare or related field desirable
EXPERIENCE AND REQUIRED SKILLS:
- 2 - 4 years' experience in a healthcare or business data verification or customer service setting.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to interact with third party groups, IT contacts and clinical personnel.
- Attention to confidentiality and regard for protecting confidential and sensitive information required.
- Strong problem solving and time management scales with the ability to consistently work in fast paced environment.
- Clinical Source System knowledge and expertise.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills.
- Proficient with PCs and Microsoft Office applications.
