Work Schedule:
Work Hours: Monday through Friday, with flexible 8 to 10-hour shifts scheduled anytime between 6:00 am and 6:00 pm
Minimum Qualifications (Applicants must meet the following requirements):
Minimum Qualifications:
- Degree: Must hold a Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) or Doctor of Psychology (PsyD) degree.
- Education: Graduated from a college or university accredited by the American Psychology Association with a doctoral degree in clinical or counseling psychology.
- Internship/Residency: Successfully completed an internship in psychology accredited by the American Psychological Association.
- Licensing: Possess a current, full, active, and unrestricted psychologist license valid in any State, the District of Columbia, Guam, Puerto Rico, or US Virgin Islands.
- Professional Experience: Demonstrated experience meeting clinical competency requirements as outlined in Service-specific credentialing instructions.
- Possess a minimum of two years postgraduate experience as a Clinical Psychologist within the last 3 years.
- Experience as a Clinical Psychologist that includes evaluation and treatment of Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and related mental health issues.
- Security: Must possess the ability to pass a Government background check/security clearance.
- Life Support Certification: Hold a current AHA OR ARC BLS Healthcare Provider certification.
Core Duties:
Specific Job Responsibilities and Tasks: The role encompasses a range of duties, including but not limited to:
- Practice within state licensing board and American Psychological Association guidelines.
- Conduct psychological evaluations using interviews, testing, and collateral sources.
- Establish psychiatric diagnoses per APA Diagnostic and Statistical Manual.
- Provide psychological treatment for individuals, groups, and medical/surgical patients.
- Assist in patient rehabilitation.
Additional Duties:
- Offer outpatient psychology services, including diagnostics, treatment plans, and psychotherapy.
- Collaborate with clinical staff on mental health wellness programs.
- Provide patient consultations requested by Naval Hospital staff.
- Maintain records and reports per HMSI standards.
- Perform clinical evaluations and administer psychological tests.
- Deliver mental and behavioral health therapy.
- Apply psychological interventions in various medical settings.
- Serve as advisor and consultant in clinical psychology.
- Evaluate complex cases and recommend care or referrals.
- Communicate evaluation results and participate in program development.
- Assist in Substance and Alcohol Rehabilitation Program (SARP).
- Treat patients with Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, Combat Stress Disorders, and Traumatic Brain Injury.
- Provide psychological assessment and treatment for confined individuals in the Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton Brig.
- Conduct staff education on post-traumatic stress disorder and related disorders.
